Instruction leaflet and sizes and dimensions of Emilla's pads:
The crescent moon indicates a light pad, the half-full moon, a moderate pad, and the full moon a heavy pad. The Szeléné and the Gaia do not have these indictions as these pads are always heavy pads! The Irisz also has no moon indication as it is a thong liner!
I have three sizes pads from Emilla: the Afrodité in a light and in a medium flow, the Pénelopé in a light and a medium flow, and the Szeléné, heavy flow. In these pictures you can see them! I've also included a picture of my Emilla stain stick (to come) as I will be reviewing that one as well.
Emilla pads
Emilla pads are gorgeous. I would highly recommend them to everyone! They are thin, super-well made and come in the cutest high quality prints you could imagine. I tried mine on a few cycles now, and I have to say they really do a great job!
With my order came a handy instruction leaflet and I also received some great stickers Mónika designed herself! I love them :D She also always includes a handwritten note with a lovely message on it and in the front of the card, a drawing by herself! (will post a picture on them as I have the time!)
I can also remember wearing the Pénelopé (light flow!) when I was expecting a light day that turned out a more moderate one after all :p
I had to sit in the car for a very long time with no bathroom to get changed in sight. It was my first go with Emilla pads, so I had no idea as of what to expect. Because of the hot weather and having to sit in the car for so long a period (lol, no pun intended!) I started to feel a bit hot and sweaty, but, as with the Szeléné, I remained leak-free.... : ) So happy and relieved I was!
If you were to be an avid cup user, also as cup backup are they excellent! :D
Emilla stain stick
The Emilla stain stick works wonders. I have quite strong blood and always get stains so I was getting desperate in finally finding a stain stick that would work for me too. I had heard about the Emilla stain stick and that it was supposed to be quite effective and decided to give it a go. I have to say that the women recommending this stain stick were absolutely right in that it does the job properly and probably is the best stain stick around! Out of all my pads I treated, there was only one still stained! I have to mention that the stain that remained was on a blue pad (opposite colour in the spectrum of red so stains more easily) plus that it was only a faint reminder of the stain it had been! After the treatment with the Emilla stain stick thé stain, was merely noticeable anymore.
In my opinion, it thus is great and I definitely would encourage you to try it if you are looking for a good one! As an added bonus it is also all natural and thus safe for you and the environment! And, oh my gosh, the smell...! :P
If, after reading this post, you would like to buy your own Emilla pads, you can do so on their website. You can switch the currency from the hungarian one to euro via a tab at the lefthandside of the page!
Emilla is also supporting the Amps for Africa project I mentioned earlier. If you would like to buy a pad, stain stick or wetbag to donate, you can also do so on the Emilla website! If you can spare the money, please do! You then help a girl to be able to attend school while she's on her period! (I will upload a photo on my donation certificate when I have the time!)
